Ancora oggi, passeggiando in piazza del Gesù nel pieno centro storico di Napoli, ritorna alla memoria la straordinaria Filumena Marturano, interpretata da Sophia Loren nel 1964.

Vittorio De Sica trasformò un appartamento del Palazzo Pandola nella casa della celebre eroina di Eduardo in “Matrimonio all’italiana”, che prima aveva ospitato lui stesso nel ruolo del conte Prospero ne “L’oro di Napoli”.
